Deer Plot / Food Plot & Specialty

Chufa is perennial sedge that has underground tubers in which can produce one plant that in turn can produce up to 15 – 75 tubers once mature. The tubers of this sedge are high in protein and fat which makes them especially nutritious for wild game. Although chufa is the single most preferred food for turkeys it also makes an excellent food source for deer and ducks. Chufa can also be flooded during winter to depths from 8 inches to 1 foot and for various species of ducks but can only be flooded after a summer planting.
